Sunrise at Angkor Wat, Siem Reap

Angkor Wat is the largest religious ancient structure and the most famous temple to visit in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The land size of the temple is 10,299 sqm and took 37 years to build.

This temple is dedicated to God Vishnu of Hinduism who is said to be the preserver and protector of the universe. Angkor Wat was used for learning, meditating, and Pilgrimage by the ancient people.

We went to see Angkor Wat for the early morning sunrise. We were picked up around 4.30 am and when we got there, we were certainly not the first to arrive.

We sat watching in darkness as slowly the sunrise started. There were lots of other tourists there doing the same thing, so choose a perfect spot for photos.

The sunrise scene is one of the most awe-inspiring moments to experience. It was an awesome sight to see the sunrise and the place coming to life.

Then we move to the pond on the right, in front of the towers to see the sunrise reflection. A truly amazing experience, you definitely have to visit here if in Siem Reap.
