ToggleWe had a truly memorable experience spending time here. Taking a boat ride on the West Lake was a great pleasure, and we had the opportunity to take in the sights of the three pagodas
The water was pristine and the lakeside was untouched by commercialism. The lake and its surroundings had a dreamy atmosphere, making it feel a world away from the noise of the city.
The West Lake Park’s grounds were breathtaking, with its gorgeous floral landscapes and a variety of temples, pagodas, pavilions, gardens, causeways, and artificial islands, making it one of the most beautiful areas
After departing from Center Island, we suggest taking a boat to the opposite side of the lake, home to the iconic Lei Feng Pagoda. Hangzhou is full of pagodas and temples, the Lei Feng Pagoda is a must-see.
This pagoda is a common sight, perched atop a small hill by the lake, reaching up to the sky and surveying the surrounding area. The journey to the highest floor is brief, comprising only five floors, and if you don’t feel like climbing up the stairs, you can take the escalator or the steps to reach the top of the hill.
We had the pleasure of visiting the Leifeng Pagoda on a beautiful day, where we could admire the stunning views of the Lake
From the higher levels, the magnificent panoramic views of small boats peacefully gliding across the tranquil lake, and the distant hills in the background can easily evoke the imagery from traditional Chinese landscape paintings.
The original pagoda can be seen on the ground floor of the building, and each floor is decorated with impressive reliefs and paintings along the curved walls.
A day trip to Lei Feng Pagoda and West Lake is a great way to explore the city and its culture. If you’re looking for a relaxing day or an adventure, this is the perfect place to visit.
