We stayed in a Dotonbori hotel within 5 minutes walk to Dotonbori and always ended up here for our dinner. There are many eateries and shops which are always bustling with tourists and even locals, especially at the night.

Exciting and colorful neon lights raised the energy level in crowded shopping districts. We enjoyed the street foods and spend time watching the creative and unique designs of sign boards displayed outside the shops and eateries. It is a touristy place and some of the shops even catered specially for Chinese Tourists with mandarin-speaking staff.

There is an abundance of shops selling Takoyaki (Octopus Balls) on this street, some busier than others but we found that it does not necessarily indicate a better Takoyaki

This is the first sushi-go-round restaurant all over the world. Each dish, from standard dishes to seasonable dishes, is 125 yen, 135 yen with tax.

We had okonomiyaki from a small place on the river and it was delicious. Go down onto the promenade from the main bridge and it’s just past a Thai restaurant.

Kinryu Ramen is one of the best Ramen restaurants we had in Osaka. You have to order and buy at the vending machine. Ramen will serve in just a few seconds after you hand the receipt. There are 3 large communal bowls of Kimchi, Green Onion, and Garlic that you can add to your noodles.

Those restaurants along the river bank not only offer good food and sitting, but you can watch people crossing and the views are nice.

There’s Starbucks and Family Mart and on any corner, in case you want to grab a drink

Pablo’s Cheese Tart is quite popular in Osaka for their Rare/Medium Cheese Tarts. Looking at the long queue, we decided to give it a try what is so special about their Cheese Tarts and Cheese Cake. When we taste the 1st bite, it was so delicious, with good cheese, good cake, and good texture, and we were so in love with it.

This is the place where you definitely have to go with an empty stomach! Plan your eating route. You will be spoilt for choices. We would recommend you to eat standing around or eat in their shops overlooking all the people walking past. It was really an experience eating in the busiest and bustling streets in Dotonbori.
