If you love beaches, then you have to visit this place. Brighton is one of Melbourne’s most exclusive suburbs, located south of the city between Elwood and Hampton and fronting Port Phillip with its stretches of beautiful sandy beaches.
The most famous spot on Brighton’s coastline is Dendy Street Beach. The colorful 82 Brighton Bathing boxes are well known for their iconic bathing boxes and wooden huts that line the beach and are painted in bright colors.
We went there early in the morning and took the train from Southern Cross Station to Flinders Street Station where we changed the train (Sandringham line) and get off at Brighton Beach Station. The one-way train trip took us around 35 minutes.
From the Brighton Beach Station, you have to walk to the beach which is approximately 20-25 minutes depending on your walking speed.
The walk along the beach to the Bathing Boxes is very picturesque with plenty of opportunities for photographs along the way.
This is a must-see when in Melbourne. We had such a lovely walk on Brighton beach where all the boxes were so unique and colorful for the great pictures.
It was very windy when we were there. There were quite large waves too.
A long row of colorful Bathing boxes lining a section of the beach and nice background for taking pictures. The beach was well-cleaned, vibrant, and quite relaxing.
Since we went there early in the morning, there were not many people around, giving us the freedom to take pictures of the colorful Bathing boxes as the background without having other people photobombing our pictures.
The Bathing boxes are so beautiful with the background of blue sky, clear sea, and soft sand beach.
The weather is extremely cold during winter time and we were freezing. But we really enjoy taking pictures and spent around two hours there.
The variety of Bathing boxes is much nicer and we took a lot of photos in funny ways.
The famous Brighton Beach Bathing Boxes are well worth seeing. You should definitely go to Brighton Beach Bathing Boxes if you visit Melbourne. It’s a great picturesque place I like the most in Melbourne.
