The Bund, The museum of Grandiose buildings

SAM_0701

We stayed here for a few nights in Shanghai, and it did exactly what we wanted it to. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and had all the amenities you would need.

Because you can’t drink tap water in Shanghai, they provided two bottles of water every day without fail, which is not enough to survive for the whole day.

This hotel is very close to People’s Square, the Dashijie metro station, and Museum, so it’s a great location. The hotel is a heritage building, the former YMCA, and the reception area is beautiful.

We went to The Bund by metro subway from our hotel. It was accessible since our hotel is near a Dashijie metro station. We got out at Nanjing Road and walk a few minutes going to the Bund. The view is amazing, it is like you are not in China.

The architectures are great from the French era. They said that it is also great to visit this at night since the buildings will light up.

The Peace Hotel is a legendary iconic landmark in Shanghai. The location of the Peace hotel where the Bund meets Nanjing Road is unequaled.

The Bund is a fantastic place to visit with old Shanghai on one side of the Huangpu river and new Shanghai on the opposite side. Take a nice long walk and take in the history of these historic buildings along a lovely river.

The best time to see the Bund is in the evening around 5.30 pm. That way you are able to see beautiful sunsets and the buildings light up at night in an impressive display of colors.

On the riverside is the wide, elevated promenade from which to view the new and ever-growing Shanghai skyline featuring the Pearl Tower, Shanghai Tower, and numerous other unique buildings. It’s probably the best photography spot in Shanghai. The promenade also features landscaped designs on its sides.

It is busy. Every tourist visiting the city comes here. But, the promenade is very wide and can accommodate lots of people.
